The Role Readiness Check is a structured assessment designed to help employers evaluate role clarity, alignment, and readiness before introducing, refilling, or changing a position, reducing risk before hiring begins.

The Role Readiness Check is a structured assessment designed to help employers evaluate role clarity, alignment, and readiness before introducing, refilling, or changing a position, reducing risk before hiring begins.

What it does

Through a short, structured set of questions, the Role Readiness check evaluates key factors that commonly create downstream HR, compliance, or employee relations issues when roles are defined or filled without sufficient clarity. This includes the business need for the role, headcount approval, job scope alignment, success criteria, worker classification, pay foundations, and operational readiness.

What the tool evaluates

The Role Readiness Check evaluates key areas that impact whether a role is truly ready for hiring, including:

  • Business need and internal approval

  • Role definition and job clarity

  • Success criteria and evaluation structure

  • Work location and applicable employment laws

  • Employment type and classification

  • Compensation alignment and pay equity considerations

  • Hiring process and documentation readiness

  • Onboarding and operational preparedness

  • Overall confidence in role readiness

How it works

Based on your responses, you will receive a follow-up Role Readiness Check Assessment by email that highlights potential gaps, inconsistencies, or exposure areas. The report flags where additional clarification, documentation, or planning may be warranted before moving forward. The goal is not to determine whether you should hire, but to help you understand the risk associated with how prepared the role is today.

This tool is especially useful when:

  • You are creating a new role or refilling an existing one

  • The job description may not fully reflect the work to be performed

  • Success expectations or evaluation criteria are unclear or informal

  • You are navigating classification, pay range, or internal alignment questions

  • There is pressure to move quickly without full role clarity

The Role Readiness Report provides insight and risk awareness, not legal advice. Final decisions always remain with the employer.

Why HRIS does not do this

Because HRIS systems aren’t built to think. They’re built to store and process.
